Rest in Peace Brian Marion, my teacher

I knew the lunar eclipse would unleash change, turns and twists
But never did I imagine, Brian would leave us this weekend…

Brian Marion, was an Aboriginal artist who apprenticed under Norval Morrisseau, founder of the Woodland school art.
Brian healed not only with his art but with his prayers, presence and words.
I will never forget when I first went to see him. Just being around him was so calming. He read me right away. He looked into my soul and saw me for who I really am.

I was sent to work with Brian in my spiritual journeys. He opened my way into a cirlce of beautiful people in the Toronto Aboriginal community. He taught me about ceremony, about humility and the fire. Brian was my teacher.

He was an elder and meant so much to so many people. He knew how much I cared for him and how grateful I was for all of his teachings. Yet there is a part of me that wished I was there to properly say goodbye…

Brian I will never forget your teachings and I promise to remember all that you saw in me that I sometimes forget and fail to see…

You are still here but on the other side of the veil…

Brian Marion, RIP, 1960-2011…
